Spaceship’s SellerHub domain sales platform, a part of Namecheap’s services, has garnered attention in the domain industry. Recently, Namecheap integrated SellerHub domains into its registration process, leveraging its position as the second-largest domain registrar. This move has sparked curiosity and interest among domain sellers and buyers alike.
To explore the functionality of SellerHub, I decided to add a domain to the platform. SellerHub operates on a 5% commission model, offering competitive rates compared to other platforms like Sav.com, Atom, and GoDaddy. Notably, domains listed on SellerHub are not restricted to Spaceship or Namecheap registrations and require a minimum listing price of $100.
The process of adding a domain to SellerHub is straightforward. Sellers can upload domains via a spreadsheet or manually enter details. For my test, I opted for the manual entry method, where I provided domain specifics such as minimum offer, asking price, and the option to use a sales lander.
Upon adding domains to SellerHub, verification is necessary, which can be achieved by changing nameservers, adding DNS records, or a TXT record. Although instant verification is not guaranteed when changing nameservers to Spaceship, most domains are verified within an hour. Additionally, the landing page becomes active as soon as nameservers are updated, providing a preview of how the domain will appear to potential buyers.
The customization options on SellerHub allow sellers to tailor the description displayed below the domain name on the landing page. Once a buyer clicks “Buy now,” they are directed to a page on Spaceship to proceed with the purchase. However, buyers must create a Spaceship account to complete the transaction, as Namecheap accounts are not integrated for checkout.
Spaceship’s SellerHub presents a new avenue for domain sellers to explore, offering a user-friendly interface and seamless transaction processes. Feedback from users who have engaged with SellerHub indicates a positive post-sale experience, with smooth negotiations and payment procedures. The platform’s seven-day payment window post-agreement has been noted as generous, providing buyers with ample time to fulfill their obligations.
As the domain industry continues to evolve, platforms like SellerHub contribute to enhancing the buying and selling experience for domain investors. The integration of SellerHub into Namecheap’s ecosystem signifies a strategic move to diversify services and cater to a broader audience of domain enthusiasts. With its competitive commission rates and versatile listing options, SellerHub is poised to become a significant player in the domain sales market.
Domain investors and sellers looking to expand their reach and streamline their sales processes can benefit from exploring SellerHub’s offerings. By leveraging innovative platforms like SellerHub, domain professionals can tap into new opportunities and maximize their domain assets’ potential in a dynamic and competitive market.
